Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in America and is an American photographer and journalist. For more than forty-five years, she's focused on documenting human suffering, primarily during war and natural catastrophes. Curry was a journalist in war-zones such as Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, born November 19th, 1956 (Agana), is an American journalist who worked as an anchor on television. Curry became known in particular for her reporting of catastrophes caused by natural causes and humanitarian crises that occurred within war-torn areas. Curry's Japanese-American mother and U.S. navy-marine father were both prominent figures within Curry's personal life. Curry's parents were married in Japan which is in which her father was stationed after World War II. As a result of her father's active military duty, the family travelled frequently. The family eventually settled in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. After graduating from University of Oregon, Curry received a bachelor degree in journalism degree in 1978. In her youth she was exposed various cultures. The compassion she displays towards the world is likely due to her experience. Her final graduation was in Ashland High School. As an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregon she began her career as a broadcaster. She was the first woman news reporter for the station at was just 22. Then she was promoted to anchoring and reporting at KGW which is an affiliate of NBC in Portland. After moving to Los Angeles, she became a reporter at KCBS TV four years after having moved into the city. She won 2 Emmy Awards during the six years that she worked for this station.
